Interforest Terminal Rotterdam is a 100% owned subsidiary of SCA Transforest of Sundsvall, Sweden. Transforest's operations are organized in three business areas: Interforest Terminals, a network of strategically located forest products terminals in Europe, offering forwarding, stevedoring, warehousing, ships agency and other administrative services; Transforest Shipping, which offers marine transport solutions by means of specially designed Ro-ro vessels and various conventional vessels. The business includes operation of a number of intra-European short sea traffics and acting as forwarder for other short and deep sea routes. Transforest IT & Logistics is the consultancy unit with the ambition to develop leading logistics solutions for the Forest Products segment.
Interforest Terminal Rotterdam, which was established in July 1967, was built to handle all types of Forest Products arriving with specialized vessels, from open hatch bulk carriers, to Ro-ro vessels. An annual quantity of approximately 1,000,000 tons of all types of paper and pulp, shipped from Scandinavian, European, South American, U.S. and Canadian ports, are handled, stored and forwarded to the European hinterland. Stevedoring, warehousing, forwarding, customs clearance (as limited fiscal representatives) and ships agency comprise a total package of services offered to the customers. AEO Certification As of June 2nd 2010 Interforest Terminal Rotterdam has obtained the AEO certificate for both Custom Simplifications as well as Security and Safety. This certificate is issued to any economic operator established in the European Community who fulfils criteria related to customs compliance, appropriate record-keeping standards, financial solvency, and maintains appropriate security and safety standards. By means of the certification Interforest terminal Rotterdam can officially call itself an EU Authorised Economic Operator and therefore meets the requirements as laid out by the EU in the Community Customs Code as amended by EC Regulations 648/2005 and 1875/2006. As a result of this Interforest terminal Rotterdam is able to further strengthen its role as valued supply chain partner towards its customers as the goods flow handled by Interforest terminal Rotterdam will be subject to less controls and priority treatment as well as will give easier admittance to customs simplifications, the possibility to request a specific place for controls and allows for prior notification in case of shipments under customs regime. It is therefore believed that for customers working close together with Interforest terminal Rotterdam the benefits will be further enhanced. If you would like to receive more information on Interforest terminal Rotterdam in general or the benefits of its AEO certification, please contact Mr. P. Keemink or H. Meijboom.
